How do I report a student absence or late?
Parents/Guardians, please use this link to set up your account. This is an on-line portal to report student absences/lates.
Until you have your account, you can call the school attendance office at (416) 395-3340.
How can my student remember the schedule?
All ODD calendar days follow a Day 1 Schedule. All EVEN calendar days follow a Day 2 Schedule. On Day 2’s, the AM classes flip and the PM classes flip.
When will my student receive a timetable?
Electronic version of Student timetables will be available before the first day of school via the TDSB Connects App, which can be downloaded via Google Play or the Apple App Store. Once downloaded, students will use their TDSB credentials to access the features of this app.
Please note: Timetables are tentative and may be subject to change. Students must attend all classes on their timetable and listen to announcements for further instructions from our Guidance Department. The Guidance website has up-to-date instructions.
How can I book an appointment with my student's teachers during parent-teacher interview day?
An announcement is typically made in the Friday Forecast or by email. All appointments are made using the website https://ymci.schoolappointments.com/
Who do I speak to if I have an issue?
Please refer to the Parent Concern Protocol. Note that the Step 2 contact can be either the Vice-Principal or Principal. At York Mills CI, the Vice-Principal is usually the next step after the Classroom Teacher.
How can my student activate their TDSB email?
If you are new to the TDSB, your student may not be able to download and register for the TDSB Connects App, and they may not be able to activate your TDSB email until you attend the 1st day of school and become “active” in the system.
What extracurricular clubs are available?
Each fall, the school holds a Clubs Day open to students. Each club has a table, and students are able to find out about each club and learn how to join. Please listen to announcements about clubs and athletics. The school newsletter, The Friday Forecast, is sent to all parents/guardians and students every Friday. It may contain some information about joining athletics.
How can my student reset their password?
If your student has not created a password for their TDSB account, or if their account has been reset, you will need to use the following default password (or “Shared Secret Password”). It is the Is the the last 4 digits of your TDSB student number, 2 digits for day of birth, 2 digits for month of birth, followed by @Tdsb:
How can my student get a locker?
Returning YM Students – continue to use your assigned locker from last year. Any students who don’t know their assigned number, please come to the main office.
Students can purchase combination locks using the Cash On-line system or bring their own.
It is important to note that students must use assigned lockers and not share lockers.
